It just means that they have a bacteria that Tylan doesn't treat, or they have a virus. If they keep eating and drinking, and they don't lose weight, they should survive.

Lots of people do, and I think it's a good idea, but I'm too lazy, so I don't.

Baytril is very powerful and it will kill almost all good and bad bacteria, so yeah, avian specific probiotics would be good.

Oh, I think two of the links have directions for using it in water, but there are a few reasons that this should not be done.

1. Baytril can bind with the calcium in hard water
2. Baytril is very bitter and they probably won't drink the medicated water.
3. No way to know if they are getting the proper dose.

What essential oils do you use?

I use lavender at night to help them relax and sleep well. Good rest is essential for healthy animals whether they be ill or healthy. I also use peppermint and eucalyptus during the day if there are any with the sniffles. Kinda works like the vet RX but without having to mix with warm water and what not. During the summer when you can cut the humidity with a knife, I like to use a citrus mix.
