So sorry retiredwithchicks. It must be a bad day for chickens. the daughter dog pulled out of its collar and got 1 of my little roos. Thank God it was only one. I'd rather have the chickens than the dog anyways. It starts to barks at night around 10:00, my bedtime. John

Oh no, so very, very sorry to hear this!

Thanks te dave it's been hot up here in southwest Ohio, I assume you're from the south, I bet it's real bad down there. Our daughter is in the Army stationed in GA she says the heats been really bad. Hope it cools off soon so you can get your birds.
John

We had a close call a few weeks ago. DS tossed food scraps into the dog pen and 2 chickens raced for dibs, squeezing thru the picket fence. Other than a terrible scare, the girls were fine.

Other than that, I'm still working on my breeding pens. Hope everyone is coping with the extremely hot days.

I am sorry to hear of the losses some of you have experienced.

I have a photo of my young guy, who was born about the middle of March. Any impressions? How does he look? He seems a bit red to me. Thanks for your feedback.
