Not surprising at all. There are a couple hatcheries that are on BYC. They don't chime in when asked what strain they have. Trade secrets I guess

Not a trade secret... they honestly just don't know... nor do they care. As long as they hatch chicks and look like the breed... that's all that matters.

I just got done calling Meyer Hatchery. The lady that answered had no idea about the history of there birds orther then what was in the catelog. I guess thats not to surprising.

Nobody at Meyers would know where they came from except for Ben... Call ask for Ben... and he may remember where we got them from. If you do, tell him Jeff at Brunty Farms says hi.

What school???

Since you asked, it's about 10 below zero, 25 mph winds, and 8" of snow on top of the 2' of snow we already have!!!! But, we're fine. How is it down there?

Oh ya. I haven't been home in 2 days because instead of being smart and staying home, I choose to go to work (in Comfrey) because I wouldn't be able to make it on the roads. (Christmas drained me and I need the $$$$) They even shut down the State Highways and I90!!!

I graduated from Windom. Yes I remember them winters and highway closings. Its cold here to 15 with a light wind. Suppose to get to 5 tonight so much for global warming.

Hi everyone,

We are realy excited about this breed and want to add them to our flock this year but dont want to order from a hatchery! My husbands family is from OH and love anything buckeye! So I wanted to see if any one is planning on shiping chicks this spring? If so I would love to get a straight run of about 25 enough for him and his dad to have some!
