I have eggs in my Buckeye/RIR pen!!!! There are the first for these girls. I am happy for eggs from either, but would be really happy if they were Buckeye eggs, as I've been working for them for two years. I think the Buckeye hens are a smidge older, but I just can't remember. I guess I just need to separate them.

Hey Jen,

When will you be able to set some more Buckeye eggs? May have another youth interested in them. His mother likes the RIRed. I think we can convince her to go with the Buckeye. Especially since we have such a nice flock just down the road.

Had to relocate my chicks. They outgrew their tote brooders. Have them in a two hole hutch with styrofoam sheets surrounding it. Opened a doorway to the next pen. Will allow them to use both sides thsi weekend. Have justa bit more work to do on the other side. Need Jahdan to help me.

These are really beautiful Buckeye chicks! (Dave, quit smiling and gloating!)

I am excite.I registered my buckeyes for thier first show Feb. 20th in Newnan Georgia.I believe Chris McCarey is coming over 1 week before the show to help me prep my birds.I am attending my first show this weekend in Dalton Georgia.i would have shown my birds at this show also but I found out about it too late.I am hoping to learn more about what goes on at shows.

I have about 30 eggs on day 10 and just put in another 4 dozen yesterday. So, I'll have some buckeye chicks in a few weeks, they'll be pickup only.

My little lone buckeye chick that I raised with the longcrowers I'm afraid is a rooster, I hope he's a good one, because he was raised on meal worms and is a big pet. I knew there was a reason I didn't make pets out of my chickens.

I'm not going to the GA shows, but sure looking forward to the Arkansas shows. I wish the Alabama show and the Big Bird Classic weren't the same weekend. I'm already looking forward to the Shawnee show in December!

In the entire history of the Fancy there has NEVER been a more spoiled chicken than Jen's sole little rooster! He lives in a travel trailer. He gets hand fed meal worms. HE IS SPOILED!!!!!

Oh, He is also soooo CUTE!!!!!
