I had not whacked the weeds in my run and the chickens were cleaning only half the run, when I finally had time to whack the high weeds I found a garter snake, the chicks didn't want anything to do with the snake.

Adults would have eaten your snake, I am sure! Mine play "chicken football" with any snakes they catch.

mice and rats are trouble at my place ... which is why I encourage snakes, but when the hens free range.... I don't see my snakes ! :)

Adults - of course. Snakes can eat the wee ones.

Since I will loose my snakes - I have to beef up the buckeye number ! :)

Hello Everyone.......Here is a great story of buckeyes finally coming home to the old Metcalf farm. Please read and pass around to all of your buckeye friends. It is clearly a historical event. Also old maps and pictures of the old homestead as well. Every buckeye friend should understand how cool this is.

That's a very cool story.

That is neat. Do you know if any of the other current tract holders are going to get Buckeyes too?
