Well if you would have been here to watch me bath six buckeyes you would've got a laugh out of it.I think I got cleaner and wetter than the buckeyes. One rooster especially did'nt want a bath.I am showing 2 cockerals and two pullets but I couldn't decide which ones so I washed 3 each.I'm excited about the show and really don't know what to expect.Chris McCarey is going with me to show me the ropes. I hatched some more chicks this morning from the same eggs that you have. They are doing very good.Have you seen any activity yet with your hatch? Good luck!

James good luck at the show. I know what you mean about washing them. The kids showed theirs for the first time last summer and it was a riot watching them try to wash those guys. Let us know how it goes at the show!

Good luck at the show! Take pictures and let us know how it goes.

I believe my chickens think they are at the spa when we wash ours, because mine just relax in the warm water and usually fall asleep when we wrap them up in a towel and hold them before putting them in their carriers.

Well back from the Newnan chicken show and had a great time.We need more people showing buckeyes so this is a cry for help from all buckeye lovers. My birds were the only buckeyes. I won Best of Breed with my cockral that me and Chris thought was my second best cockral and won reserve breed with my pullet that I thought was my best bird so I was a little off from the judges.I meet a ton of people that I only read about online.Mostly marans people as they were having some kind of marans specialty show also and after Chris left I went and hung out with the marans people.I had a great talk with Beve Davis before I left and also had a lengthy talk with Charles Logan. I got to meet two of my favorite BYCers in Bamachicken( Julie) and taterschickens(Imogene). It was a beautiful day in Georgia in the low 60's and also hanging out and getting to know Chris McCarey was a real treat.Chris is a real stand up guy with a ton of information.I really had a great experience at my first show and hope others give it a try.Now time for a long nap
