Sorry to hear of your loss.
Coyotes are one reson we have Buddy. He is an Anatolian Shepherd, Livestock Guardian Dog. A coyote will not get within a half mile of Buddy. The birds will stand around till Buddy eats all his food he wants then run in for his leftovers. He lives and sleeps with our poultry. He had no training with poultry. We placed him on a cable for a short time until he got use to everything. He is now willing to give his life for our poultry and us.

Hi Jim, Buddy's a BIG boy
I've heard of the breed before and a lot of our local meat goat farmers keep them for their stock. We have a Kelpie, similar to a heeler, a herding dog, but they are not near as big as Buddy. Coyotes run rampid in our area and this is the 2nd time we've had an attack, but it's been a couple years in between. We shoot a lot of them, but they are a VERY coy & sly animal! Sometimes you win, other times you just dont, saddly
