I got some eggs from a breeder in OH and at least two of the birds wound up having a SC. The comb is still small but I can tell there's no way it's going to be a peacomb so I've got to get rid of all these birds now from this breeder because I just have no way of knowing what they might actually have. I'm wondering if maybe we got some from the same person?

How common is it for a buckeye to have a single comb? Doesn't it sometimes happen?

The single comb has been in there for decades, just have to be vigilant in keeping it from being replicated. One year I had all the offspring from one pen showing up with it, and once I culled the male it went away (although obviously at least one hen was a carrier.) This year I didn't see a single chick with it.

One more reason why I won't ship hatching eggs any more...

I am learning about Buckeyes, but, the roos pictured for sure look like game bred to me, they'd sell well in the Philippines.
