Buckeye genders?

They look like hens to me. Roosters get very long thin feathers around their neck, almost like a mane.

Talking with the breeder I got my buckeyes from, they're rather difficult to sex.

Ethel is the only one that may be questionable from what I can see. Her waddles seem a little larger than the others.

At 6 weeks old you can attempt vent sexing. I'm sure there's plenty of you tube videos or explanations online on how to do this.

So far, they look like pullets. By 12-14 weeks they'll go through puberty and any cockerels will grow the pointy male saddle feathers. You will know for sure then.

I breed Duane Urch line of Buckeyes. These all appear to be Pullets. My cockerels will start developing darker (green/black sheen) tail feathers.

I know that they're too old now, but if you have chicks in the future, evidently you can feather sex 4-5 day old buckeyes (normally feather sexing is done on day olds).
