buckeye lays egg after a year!

any idea why spike has little spurs on the back of her legs too?
All chickens have spurs no matter their age, gender or breed. Chickens will start out their life with spur nubs, which still count as spurs even though they are very short in length. Over time, their spurs will grow longer as they age. Older chickens tend to have longer spurs due to this. In certain breeds, both the females and males grow longer spurs than other breeds.
