New babies hatching this week!!!! I have been trying to check and momma wouldn’t let me peek until today and I counted 3-4 nekkid squirmies!!!! At least 2 more occupied nest boxes but i haven’t noticed more than a couple eggs in those yet. This nest had 9 eggs last weekend

She wasn’t happy about it but she did let me get a closer look today!!!! I’m fairly certain it’s 4 as I saw 5 remaining eggs

I think it’s like you said in another thread……they truly follow their own mother…..she’s successfully hatched and raised large clutches. This mom was youngest of 5.
