Budgie Eggs!

Oh good lord when will pair #4 start to lay! The first eggs are dated to hatch tomorrow! Although, I expected spring to already start in here and winter to fade away. But winter is still pretty much here now. As soon as I test negative again, I'll move pair #4 to my room to see their behavior. The female's cere (nose) is deep red meaning she's in breeding mood. Wonder why she's not laying yet. The male and female bonded and she even sits in the nest box but no eggs yet. I'll tell my uncles to give her boiled eggs tomorrow. Huh

Deep RED?? That sounds like a male as males can be blue or bright pink. A female is full breeding mode will have a dark BROWN cere; and not all females get that dark of brown.

Two males will bond and seem much like a true pair.

A couple things you can try are to relocate their nest box or give them a choice of nest boxes of different styles and materials. I always preferred the wooden boxes and had good luck with them. A change of lighting and cage location might help. Consider trying to make their cage more private or secure.

Yeah, I'm planning to do exactly that, change their location and give them more privacy. But now as I have covid, I can only do that after I test negative
