budgie fever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dylan actually has 3 cages: huge day cage with playground on top, small night cage in the dark closet for bedtime (12 1/2 hours of dark makes happy parrots and owners) and small dog size travel cage for going in the car. She says, "Let's go" when she sees us getting ready to take a trip. She goes with us, or gets boarded at the vet like a dog. She hates being alone.

How sweet! :love

yeah i want mine tamed and I've been reading up on budgies for a few weeks hopefully i can convince my mom. oh here's a problem if i get budgie do i have to take it for a first check up? because I can't afford it.
The best advise I could give you about keeping your bird healthy is to always keep the cage as clean as possible, especially the water and food. Never feed them anything that's spoiled or rotten when giving fruit and vegetables and dont feed them anything that has been in your mouth. ( your digestive bacteria wont hurt you - but it could really make your bird sick!)

And one thing to remember is that budgies can live a long time. When you go to college or move out from home you are still responsible for your birds. The best owners of any pet keep that in mind. Good luck on your acquisition! My first bird was my first pet and he was terrific. He talked a lot, too! He did learn one inappropriate word, though. Nobody knows how though because the only person around from whom he could have learned it was my mom. And she could never have...right?

Yes, definitely get a pair. If you aren’t with them 24/7 then they will get lonely. Which is why it’s good to have at least two.

I do recommend getting the largest cage you can afford, it really does make them happier!
They really are happier with company. In the wild, they often live in large colonies. Note that "a pair" doesn't have to be male/female. If you don't plan to breed, get a pair of males. That way, you don't have to deal with egg-binding.

:gig No! Not MOM! NEVER Mom!
Our first budgie had a little plastic car. He would climb up on it and "fly" it to the far end of the coffee table. When it bumped into the edge, he got off, turned around and climbed back up to "fly" back again. He would do that all afternoon, if we let him. He never did figure out that he could turn around in the "driver's seat." In his little beady-birdy mind, that's how things worked!

Awesome! Mine had the bad habit of flying up to people's beer glasses, landing on the rim and helping himself. My relatives (luckily) thought it was hilarious! So there was my cursing, beer drinking bird flapping around the living room. Occasionally he'd stop and say "watcha doin'?

yeah I'm:woot gonna change food and water twice a day and papers once a day

start with one for taming purposes as taming two is near impossible unless they are caged separately get a male as females don't tame well they can handle cold temps the coldest mine handled so far was temps in the negative I have about 18 budgies lol
