Budgies!

Mine are terrified of everything new. They don't really like toys, just chewing up stuff. I do like to occasionally get the parrot a new toy just to terrify her. I probably need to look at chewy for something new for her.

Mine get terrified at first but usually they eventually like it. And with their favorite toys, they don’t even really get scared anymore and just immediately go for them. But some of them they get SUPER scared of and don’t adjust and I take those away usually. Mine like to destroy toys too but I figure that’s the point of them and it makes them happy so I don’t mind. Chewy has a lot of good stuff!! Amazon does too. I got the new bird kabobs and a new nest log thing from Amazon. They had a set of 4 kabobs for pretty cheap so I figure now I have spares lol I got the big kabobs because it takes them longer to get through them than the minis lol same type of wood so they can chew it alright. I got the rest of the toys from Chewy.

No but I want to start. They refuse anything new though unfortunately.
I've tried making them some a few times. Never had any interest whatsoever. The only thing they will eat other than their pellets&seeds is spinach and zucchini. Even then I have to be holding the spinach, and the zucchini has to be the same size as their pellets. Silly birds!

Mine won’t even eat pellets. I tried it before and they flung them out of the bowl in protest and starved themselves 😭😭😭

How long have you tried? It took 6-8 months for me to switch my budgies over.
TBH I only tried the once and then I was worried they’d starve and switch them back  that was plain pellets but I did try some of those cake things though too with the pellets mixed in with seed and other stuff and they eventually ate those when I left them in there so maybe I’ll try again or try a different brand or something.

I'd recommend Harrison's. Or TOPs, but their x-small pellets aren't great, I get the small instead. Lafeber is not my favourite as it contains filler ingredients without much nutritional value and has some sugar too if I remember correctly.
To start out with, feed them seeds as normal on the side and grind the pellets up and sprinkle them over the seed so they get the taste of it as they dig through. Moistening the mix can help but you have to remove it after a few hours to prevent bacteria growth. Keep the bowls sanitized if you try this method.
Most birds can be switched. It just takes persistence. :)
