Buff Barred Cochin Thread

The most handsome and beautiful and totally makes me drool, Dynamite! I love this bird! And he is really gentle. We took the buff roo from Doug Bishop out the other day to try and get photos and even though these 2 boys were riht together they never jumped each other. I do not put any of my roos together but as a temporary photo shoot these uys were really good together!

Again, I am not a photographer and only do what I can but this bird is so lovely and I am grateful every day that Lynne let me get him from her! He still is not overly pleased with me kissing on him!

I about rolled when he dropped his wing and was dancing for the turkeys! I tried to get photos but was laughing so hard that I blurred all the pix! It was hilarious! Little pipsqueak and big turkey toms. They were less than impressed!

Beautiful Dana. She hides from my clutches. Another one that is not happy with me holding her and petting her. I suppose the kissing of their little heads is not a chicken love. Or maybe they worry I will eat them up. LOL

And the pair I was lucky enough to get from Doug Bishop to help with this project.

Talk about not wanting to be held! These 2 really act like I am going to kill them. I keep trying to hold them and pet them and not even kiss on them but they really fear me. I am used to my bantam Cochins being under my feet, not run away in fear. I am sure in time they will come to love me as the others do but for now I move slow and offer meal worms and hope they become more used to me.

Is it breeding season yet? Is it breeding season yet? Is it breeding season yet?????

Honey is finally starting to settle in and today I free ranged them while I built them there own small pen. It's not very nice but it has them seperated from the others.

They are very beautiful. I really love your pair though. He looks like a real prince. I love the barring on Dynamite and the black on Dana! See what happens here now 24/7!! I think it's time I seperate them. He only gets along with Napoleon but sooner or later I assume that will change. ALL of my boys hate each other.

That one in the first pic on the back is georgous. I like the really pale yellow ones best! I hope I get some that look like that next year!! They are beautiful!!!

You have gorgeous birds, Lynne!

Mike, I do not put my roos together. If they grow up together that is one thing but housing mine together is a big no-no on my farm. I am lucky that Grant and Ziggy are still getting along but I really need to move Ziggy out. They are father and son and with spring approaching I do not want them to think they should hurt each other.
Hopefully you have pens to put your little men so they can get some space from each other.

Yup my boys grew up together and were totally fine with each other.. until they grew up and started discovering the ladies!
