I'm not getting any Buff Barred eggs again, but I've set all I have, hatched 5 chicks so far and there's more cookin'
Dolly, my Buff pullet, has started to lay, though! She lays sporatically but at least she's laying. You know me, I hatch pullet eggs~

My friend brought me her really nice black barred bantam hen today. She was going to show her but wanted to see what I would get crossing her in with the buff roo. Can't wait! And yes, I have really awesome friends!

Lucky you! I can't wait for any of mine from this project to start laying! This certainly gives me something to look forward to right now.

I have Dynamite with Dana and a black barred hen in one pen. There is Dougie, the buff boy with his buff hen, Melon and a black barred hen, too. I have the young pen of reds still waiting to mature and the extra black barred roo that I may put over one of those pullets but not real sure since I think both pens lack type.
And I have a buff pullet that I may cross in that is pretty well put together.

It is raining here right now so I can't get good photos, not to mention my husband just got out of the hospital where he was in the ICU for a few days so I am swamped with taking care of him and the farm and trying to keep the daughter going to school since she wants to quit and get a job to help us out. Always something to keep me on my toes!
