I love them Nancy!
OMG~!
Amy, Dynamite is still young. He will be stunning by Spring. I "love" his intense coloring. Nice Buff Pair...good score~!Okay, I tried. I am not a good photographer even on my best days but I certainly did not do justice to Lynne's beautiful birds when taking these.
I am totally, head over heels, madly in love with this boy whom I have named Dynamite! Look at those fabulous foot feathers! He hates me messing with them but I love them. He is slowly getting used to me.
And the girl with him. She is Dana. Today was their first day out on the ground. I rearranged birds so I could have my barred project all in one 10x10 pen but have them separated off from each other.
And the buff pair I picked up yesterday at the show. I hope they will add to the project. They seem like very nice birds. The gentleman usually shows the buffs and I was fortunate that I had a friend that asked him to bring me a pair to look at to see if I could use them.
And I have a buff pullet growing up from my buff Mottled project. So far no white on her but she is young yet. I may use her to see what I get if she continues to look pure buff. Another bad photo, sorry. I will get more as I am able to move better without this back brace on.
And here is a barred pair I traded for yesterday. The guy said he had barred bantam Rocks to trade and I told him no but then he brought them to me to see and I told him they weren't Rocks they were Cochin. He didn't know or else he misspoke but he really wanted my bird so I was happy to trade. Not very typy and the hen is less than ideal so I may not use her but the fella has nice barring, as far as I can tell. I am still learning about barring since I have only bred it in Marans and didn't do that for long.
And I have 2 pair of reds that a friend sold me pretty cheap. I am not sure if I can use the girls or not but they are pretty young so I will watch them. I love the reds but am really out of room and have been for some time. Not room really so much as time and hours in the day for proper care of the birds.
And these are not as typy as I like either. But this is a project so I will forge ahead.
You can see the 2 girls here but the boys are in the weeds.
And that is how far I have come in a little more than 2 weeks.
I hope to do as well as I have with my MFC in the last 3 years. I'm excited and want to thank Lynne from the bottom of my heart for helping me start and Nancy for showing me how lovely her birds are all the time and for Mike posting so many blasted photos of Peanut Butter that I could not stand it! LOL
I can't wait to travel this road with all of you in the future!
