I drove the first 8 hours on our week long vacation to get the Winston (our new gander!) Sorted out the deal with the guy.. It was a misunderstanding. He does want more than he originally asked for - but only by $25 - not going to get worked up over that. I was thinking he wanted $100 more than he asked for originally. Phew...

Anyway.. On our way back we are driving all the way without stopping (except for pee breaks and coffee) with Winston on board. That's a total of 17 hours. Should I feed him at all during this time? I want to keep the stink to the absolute minimum! :gig

We are driving a corolla. He is going to be in the backseat. I am already wishing I brought my SUV. :/

Anyway.. We can do it! it will be one of those stories we look back at and say.. "You think that smells bad.. ? Well once I drove 17 hours with a pooping 20 pound goose in my tiny car! You haven't smelled nothin' yet!"

:lau

ETA: I'll probably exaggerate the story. You always have to exaggerate! This 50 pound goose with diarrhoea in the back seat!

Aoxa, I didn't feed/water any of the rescue geese when hauling them home. They were locked up in my vehicle/trailer for almost 24 hours and they did just fine.

It was bearable with the windows down... and we had 9 goslings inside our suburban. ;)
When we went to the poultry show with 17 birds in our Saturn Vue, it was to the point of possible gagging. LOL

Windows down - it really didn't make much of a difference. My SUV smelled for weeks and weeks after of stale chicken/goose poop.

:sick

:lau

We were contemplating hanging air fresheners all around the car. Think that could make any dent in the smell? It is really cold here - so open windows would be hard to deal with as well :p

Do you realize just how many air freshners you would need to combat that stinkies? Sooner or later the windows would have to come down for a few to get all the stinky out for awhile..... You would be over come with air freshners and crap smell.
