Yes it is exciting! I'm seriously thinking I need to order a pair of goslings from your "alpha" flock...VERY NICE birds! Where does your line originate from?

we have birds from a farm in Cali who was closed down last year for the buffs. The greys (new pair) come from MI and the farm produced the 2012 Ohio Nationals Champ. We actually only have the alpha crew now and sold all of the rescues we brought in who were nice pets, but not worth breeding. Looking forward to the new buffs we are adding this year (spring and fall) from top lines as well. Worth the investment of getting them shipped in when they look as good as thesenew greys we just got.

Yeah I remember seeing that rescue thread last year... Do you cull your goslings? Do you actually "cull" or do you just sell off the culls as pets? I'm wondering how to go about that part of it...as you know, most often you don't get the full effect of what a gosling will look like till it has some age on it. Do you just hold back what looks to have the best traits and let those grow out and then make your decisions on who to keep or do you decide right after hatch?

cull can be sent to the meat flock for breeding for bigger goslings or processed for the table or sold as a pet since not everyone needs m/f pairs and f/f pairs make great egg suppliers
