No Dewlap babies this year. But here are updated pictures of my flock...excuse the fencing as everyone was up for the night when I decided I needed pictures

Everyone is a yearling with the exception of Napoleon who is 2.

Injured wing is coming back up nicely.

First sign of maybe a dewlap in her future.

Dewlap appeared to start forming over night!

Doing her own thing as usual.

Honest observations are always welcomed.

No toulouse babies for us this year either. The girls left their 20+ egg co-nest early, and we lost those eggs. Also, my incubator failed at the school, where I had another 28 african and buff egg, so none for us. I have baby africans, and one hen due early next week. She's been such a tight sitter, I don't even know how many eggs she has. I didn't have great fertility in my incubated eggs from them, maybe 30%. Still, those 4 are doing great.

I have lots of sebbie babies. The two sebbie males have adopted my one month old sebbie babies. It looks too me like one of them is a buff sebbie, so I'm kinda wondering if when the buff boy got into their pen for a part of an afternoon, and little crossbreeding didn't take place.

Awesome!! We hatched a humble blackbird this year. I didn't have the heart to make my daughter leave the nest of eggs on the ground after an early spring storm. (Here is KS, 70 mph are pretty normal in a storm, and so is ping pong ball hail). Out of 5 eggs, 1 made it. We bought starter food, and graduated to bug and worm paste, then to just worms. He's flown off allready. I think your luck to get to enjoy the cockateils after all your work!

One thing I have learned is I never count my goslings before their hatched or before we even think about hatching season. Because you never know just what is going to happen each year????
