Marty I know you do not know me well on here yet, but my heart feels for you and all of the kids them dogs got....... This is I know over whelming for your family and you. I wish I could help in some way all I can do is send you

I know that is not enough for your grief !
When people let their pets run they have NO idea of what awful things they can do. I pray that you find out who owns those dogs and you can press charges.

We had two dogs come up here and we have our birds in big dog kennels. The two dogs bounced on the one pen until the opened the door to our peacocks and went after the four of the peacocks. Well the peacocks were smart enough to fly into the trees but they had one and my husband caught them and shot the younger one in the butt with a BB gun.... If he had not done that the two would have killed Cashmier. Have sold all the peacocks and ducks except one drake.

On the one that has the feathers all toren out put a 3 way antibiotic on it for several days. Do you have any amoxi? Or any antibiotic you can give the birds that have bite wounds? You could start them on amoxi or batrryl, I think I spelled that wrong. But it would be good to give something so they do not get infection.

Oh no Marty. I am so sorry.

There are a pair of malamutes that live behind me. Their fence is 8ft tall, but they still manage to escape a few times a year and it makes me so nervous with them back there, they come stalk my birds from the woods behind us and I found one of their dog tags in my pen before, plus they are huge and have growled at me.
I wish I had something to offer to help you rebuild.

If you want some banties for your dd to cheer her up I'd be happy to send jap, d'uccle, or serama eggs when I get eggs.

Thank you my dear BYC friends. Right now, i don't think I'm up to trying to replace my babies. If the owners are found, I intend to sue them for replacement costs for birds of the age and quality of mine. If not, I'll think about hatching after Christmas, but only more buff dewllaps and Anconas. I think the complete anhilation of my entire hard built laying flock has taken my heart away for Khakis. I loved them and spent many years building that super layer flock. Just the thought that I have to go out this morning, and count and photographs piles of little dead bodies is just horrible.

The poor Ancona expired in the night. I'm going out to check on the "hopeful" injured in the barn now. All night I kept waking up to dreams of catching the dogs in their viscious act. Those owners have killed thier dogs through neglectful care. Of I'd caught those dogs right off, I'd have shot them on the spot. Instead, to hope to get any of my money back from my breeding and production stock, I have to wait and hope.

Oh Marty I cannot put into words how sorry i am to hear this, I am crying for you all, such a horrible thing to come home to. i just hope the injured ones live and you get all the compensation deserved although it won't bring back your flock. Just know I care and will continue to pray for you all.

Hi there Marty I been reading the thread and catching up only to come across your terrible experience. My sincerest sympathy to you over this nightmare experience and your losses. You've worked so hard with your stock and other peoples irresponsibility (the dogs owners)has caused all this heartbreak. Our thoughts and prays go out to you
