I love that first picture of General! What a perfect name for him. He's beautiful (well they all are) but he's just gorgeous...

They look just like my Hope, who is 23 weeks old and (hopefully) getting ready to start laying.

Up to what age do you reliably get eggs from yours? I saw that your 7-year-old only occasionally lays, but what about the others? I keep reading that chickens only lay for two seasons...

bawkbawk, I have found that if you don't force them to lay through winter (with lights) they can lay for a pretty long time, although they tend to get less consistent around 5 years.

I only have one buff orp. She finally started to lay... .and she loves it when she gets to free range....
