I'm going to hope and pray that you and the other hen voters are right! LOL I usually feel like I can spot a rooster by 6-8 weeks but this one had me baffled.I've raised buff orps for years and that is 100% hen.
Interesting mix of opinions here. BYC members have often had trouble sexing Orpingtons in other threads. Let us know whether it lays an egg or crows.)
He's so majestic looking!!I vote hen as well. Fine pointy collar feathers and saddle feathers are actually more indicative of a rooster than an upright tail. If you see those pointy saddle feathers start to develop at the base of the tail, then you have a roo. Of course he is fully mature, but this pic shows off his saddle feathers.![]()
