That is soo funny I cleaned my brooder today too. some of them flap when I take them out and some do it when I put them back in the only ones that don't really object to me too much are one of my BA Aphordite which is the one in my pic and one of my BOs Persephone and yes 5 of my chicks are named after Greek Goddesses and God (my baby boy is Hermes)I was amazed today when I cleaned the brooder and had to put all 15 of my chicks in a different bin then back to the freshly cleaned brooder and most of them didn't even try to flap! Usually when I am sitting in the brooder with them and try to pick them up they are not happy! Maybe they knew I just wanted them to have fresh bedding, lol. I have to say, my Bufd Orpingtons are definitely the most adventurous of the group - my arms are covered in tiny scratches from them surfing up and down as I hand out treats, lol. I only have 3 and all are feathering out well at 2 weeks old, so I think all three are pullets.
