Buff Orpington Rooster? Please Help!!

This guy showed up in the neighborhood, and spends days looking at my girls, and nights up the hill at the neighbors. The point is that he does not crow.

really????????? thanks everyone! and downsm75 I have seen your post of Confusing BOs, and i totally agree, they are really hard to tell.

Yes, I agree too... BO's are hard to figure out!

But, luckily, right now yours looks like a girl! I don't see any saddle or hackle feathers... Although it is odd for her to have that red of a comb.

I had 3 BO, just scooped 'em up @ TSC before I really understood the implications of "straight run". BIG Al we knew early on was a roo. He had a red comb at about 6 weeks. "P" also known as Pat because we couldn't figure out if it was a cockerel or pullet. I posted pics, opinions were mixed. Comb was pinkish, but the bird was BIG and Pat and BIG Al seemed to spare all the time. Eventually it took us until 13 weeks to determine Pat was a roo. We re-homed him to a neighbor and kept BIG Al. The funny thing was, both of them crowed for the first time the day after Pat went to his new home.
As to crowing- anytime and all the time here. BIG Al crows when it's light, crows when he's gettin uppity, crows if he hears a stick crunch in the yard at 12 midnight. I have heard him crow at 3am. Different roosters behave differently. Luckily we live in a pretty rural neighborhood and the coop is far from the neighbors- not my bedroom window, but....
