Blow that photo up, and take a look at those saddle feathers. I take it that the other pullet is from the same hatch. Big difference in that comb development for 4-5 month old birds. I've seen a lot of hatchery Orps, but those glistening , pointed saddle feathers say boy to me.I wouldn't go by the comb and wattles on a hatchery bird - there's a lot of variation among them. I have 1 that my daughter and neighbors made that mistaken assumption about one of ours - she turned out to just be faster developing, and slightly larger girl.
But the feathers definitely had me wondering...
Wow! It's been a rough winter, & I haven't been on here in forever! Just went back and looked, & my BO's r 21 weeks old now! How time flies! I am STILL not totally sure about the sex of one of them. Lol They r beautiful birds, although I wish I'd been capable of actually spending more quality time with them.They are very skittish and don't want us near them. I'm healed up now though. Do y'all think I may be able to get them out of that still, or r they too old?
