Blow that photo up, and take a look at those saddle feathers. I take it that the other pullet is from the same hatch. Big difference in that comb development for 4-5 month old birds. I've seen a lot of hatchery Orps, but those glistening , pointed saddle feathers say boy to me.I wouldn't go by the comb and wattles on a hatchery bird - there's a lot of variation among them. I have 1 that my daughter and neighbors made that mistaken assumption about one of ours - she turned out to just be faster developing, and slightly larger girl.
But the feathers definitely had me wondering...
They are very skittish and don't want us near them. I'm healed up now though. Do y'all think I may be able to get them out of that still, or r they too old?Wow! It's been a rough winter, & I haven't been on here in forever! Just went back and looked, & my BO's r 21 weeks old now! How time flies! I am STILL not totally sure about the sex of one of them. Lol They r beautiful birds, although I wish I'd been capable of actually spending more quality time with them. They are very skittish and don't want us near them. I'm healed up now though.
