Sevin is useless on mites, but will get a FEW lice. Get Permethrin dust at TSC, or any garden center. That kills all the nasties.I did a no no, & now all my feather babies r paying for it!! I didn't quarantine my 3 new hens!!!!! While checking a weird looking foot this morning I saw bugs crawling all around the hens vent!! LICE!!! Ewww!!!!
I've read and read and read! So many options, so very many! From what I've read the nasty toxic Sevin dust seems to work best, which I get that dusting them with a brush helps prevent them from breathing it as much, but how do they not eat it if you dust their coop and bedding in it??? It looks like a pretty bad infestation to me.BAD chicken mommy!!!![]()
Ok. He got Ivermectin for me, but its the paste, which I just read I cannot use anyway. He also got me some DE, so I may try that, just to maybe help their itching if nothing else, until I can get the other. I cannot get my minivan out of my driveway from the ice still, so relying on him using 4WD work vehicle before he comes home each day. Lol I have definately improved my chicken med lot today though! Have DE, Safeguard 10%, Blu-Kote, vet wrap, poly vi-sol, Corid, Wazine. Lol. Still a few things to collect to have BEFORE hand. Glad for the people here who have helped me learn so far!Sevin is useless on mites, but will get a FEW lice. Get Permethrin dust at TSC, or any garden center. That kills all the nasties.
