*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Ha....! Mashed potatoes, asparagus and coffee grounds are some of my girls favorite things in the compost...never actually saw them eat onions but they disappear in the compost pile. :)

Woe be unto the wayward mouse that wanders into the run...they will make short work of it. I have also seen them eat small snakes. I think chickens eat about anything they want and if something is bad for them they seem to instinctively know to avoid it.
 
That might be true. We have uncooked soybeans laying in several different spaces (grain trucks spill) but though my birds gobble up the wheat and corn they do not touch the soybeans. Another large factor I think is chickens have a very strong digestive system. Not much fazes them.
