*Buff Orpington Thread!*

I just realized that my sweet BO chick (the escapee that we claimed) may actually be a white leghorn. I may be sad in a few weeks... we really wanted a BO. But we don't have any white egg layers, so that would be okay. BO next time maybe.

I wouldn't give up on it yet, that chick looked awful yellow, and I'm my experience, White Leghorns are very white

Thanks for the input. I have NO experience with either breed, but when I looked onliine they looked identical.

Someone in the BYC community said the White Leghorn legs were yellow and Buff Orpington legs were pink (even as chicks) and in the picture her legs look pink, but in person they're kind of yellowish/pinkish - can't really tell.

We love her no matter what she is; time will tell though. Waiting, waiting.

I'm reaaaaly leaning towards BO. You'd be surprised how snow white WLs are, even crossed to a black chicken.
