Buff Orpingtons not Laying

my 7 month old Buff Orpingtons still are not laying yet my 6 month old Americuna is a stead layer? same food, nesting, etc. What gives? sorry new and confused.

Sometimes this time of year will slow down the beginning of laying, especially in slower maturing breeds like Orpingtons, most will usually begin laying by six month, some will take eight or nine months, decreasing daylight and energy needed for staying warm are factors.

thank you for the quick response. That makes, total sense. I guess my ADD gets the better of me. What a surprise, mother nature will produce when SHE ( and the ladies) are ready.
