Buff Orpington's with their pet cat....

Sometimes she thinks it makes her look tough, but truth be told...she is the sweetest most loving cat. She loves to be held and cuddled and has been known to wear doll clothes in the past. My kids used to dress her up a lot and she just happily complied and purred through it all. She's a great cat (and I'm not a cat person! At least I didn't used to be until Caspian changed my mind❤).

BovieVie...it's not just the swimming, cat-owning Buff Orpingtons either! I always tell my girls that I think our property is "enchanted". We also have really friendly dragonflies every year that love to land on the kids while they play. Here's a few pictures I took a couple years ago.

Yes indeed...I believe we have a very special piece of God's beautiful creation.

But I suspect this could have been a "whole nother" post in of itself. Whole nother. This is a phrase that I grew up with,
which all of my siblings used (I'm the last of seven). "Whole nother story", "whole nother situation"...you get the idea. It wasn't until a few
years ago (and I'm 45) that I discovered that there is not such thing as "whole nother".

Imagine my shock! I still
intend to use it until the day I die because to me, it makes sense.

Moulting? Hmmmm. I think I've heard something about that before, but I figure if I don't acknowledge it (the word that is), it won't happen here. I know, I know, delusional! Sometimes I need my delusions to get through life.

If it does happen, and my delusion has me convinced it won't, I'll be sure to show them in all their moulted glory!!

You are right about the Aslan thing! My daughter Tara, who resembles your niece, is gifted. She read the entire series when she was 7!! How do gifted children come from average parents anyway! Definitely a ✞God✞ thing. Anyway, she was the one who named her. She does have a lion Webkinz that she named Aslan. Does that count?? Now I'm up against Tara and Madeline with naming our coop! I want "The Hollandaise Inn", and they want "Little Henhouse in the Big Woods" (from Laura Ingalls "Little House in the Big Woods").

Life would be beautiful if that could happen, wouldn't it? But you know what? One person can make a difference, so we should all lead by example.
One small example that I always do, is when I go shopping and there is an elderly person ahead or behind me, I ALWAYS empty their cart for them
and have my girls help. Then, I walk them out to their car and load their trunk (with my girls help). I will also help any older person loading their trunk
if I see one before I even enter the store. When ever we see a veteran, the three of us will approach and give a heartfelt thank you for fighting for our
freedom. I always take the time to give a good long eye to eye look at a disabled person in a wheelchair, smile, and tell them that I hope they have a
wonderful day. Small acts of kindness will go a long way, and I want my children to experience the importance of it as well. The best way to teach these
things is to lead by example. ✿◠‿◠
