I have a few 8 MONTH old buffs. They have been starting to look like roosters about a month ago. Today they both started crowing! Isn't this a little late for them to start being roosters? LOL.View attachment 2949380

I have a light brahma who was originally Karen. She was so cute (or so I thought) till she grew her red wattles in and became Kevin! When he was a she, she would come up to the side of the cage, eat out of my hands, and just be a cute little nugget….
But once Kevin appeared, he ignores me, doesn’t hang out anymore and refuses my hand. But he is VERY nice, and of course, BIG! Gentle Giant (in the chicken world).

Reminds me of Marion, my in-town rooster, a Light Brahma who successfully pretended to be Rosemary until after I'd butchered the packing peanuts.

Thank you all! I guess that is why I don get too many eggs! Thoughts I had 7 hens and 1 rooster. But now it is 5 hens to 3 roosters!
