Bit off-topic, but I am trying to learn more about NHR as backyard fowl: saw that you have 2. Any comments/insights or where to find more first-hand experience on the utility aspects [also for Faverolles, not for show but utility, meat + eggs] would be deeply appreciated.

last June I bought 12 BOs from a feed store. First time chicken owner. We refurbished a child's playhouse that was used as a pool house on the farm we bought 2 years ago into a hen house. I don't know how to post pics

The chickens are big now, not noisy (yet) and all 12 are girls. When will they lay??

Ihave 5 buff orps. I think they are by far the friendliest of all my chickens. They are the ones that come up and jump on your shoulder while you are gardening or climb up on your lap while you are sitting out in the yard.
I really enjoy this breed alot.
