Not quite sure, being a fairly new chick mama, what you mean by , "unless you also want Barred Rocks". The post in general doesn't look real promising in general though I gather
My Buff Orpington,Salve, did something really cute whenever we picked her up. She would call her "orcs" (the other chickens) by saying "Orc" again and again. When her "orcs" did not come to rescue her,she called them "the Dorcs".
Here's my buff, thought he was a she until she started crowing! I am a new chicken owner and really only wanted hens, I lost 2 because I let them run the yard in the evening for a bit before dark, we got company and our big dog got out!! Anyway, a friends mom had Gerti and all she has is roos. So far so good, he was sooo scared of my 2 hens, he would jump on the waterer and stick his head in the corner. He can hang with them now, the hens were a year old in june, I think he's only about 6 months?? Does this sound right?? Also, he only has little nubbins on his legs no spurs, when do they get those?? Also, my 2 hens lay brown eggs, and now I am getting an off white color?? I'm really not sure what kind of hens I have, one is black and the other is a redish color, I just purchased them at the feed store. Any help would be great!

Barred Rocks are just a different breed from the Orpington. Cynthia's Barred Rocks are GREAT! I hatched one of her Barred Rock Girls and she was the sweetest little luv bug ever. I would definitely get a mix of Pure Barreds and Pure Orps from Cyn, I think you will be VERY happy with both.
