Okay...it's time to play the "roo" or "hen" game for a newbie (somewhat).

I'm confident my RI's, and Barred are hens...especially as I've already given away the Barred roo and he developed completely differently than the Barred hen. Likewise RI's look like my RI hens I had before.

However...I think all my Buffs are girls, but one is especially big and a little worrisome with that lovely mane. They are 18 weeks old.

What do you all think?

(I'm going to hold out until eggs or crowing).

Thanks
Lady of McCamley

Thank you all. You couldn't have been more accurate...hens AND eggs soon. After getting off the computer, I went in to check on the hens for my evening chores.

I just pulled the first egg out of the coop...and yes, from the biggest Buff Orp who was just coming off the nest.

All girl and first layer :-D :-D :-D

Thanks

The top pic reminds me of my cherished hen who was put down today due to illness. They are beautiful birds, enjoy them! And their eggs!
