Buff Silkie Thread!

If you want to learn a lot about silkies you can read this thread and take notes. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=297632&p=1 There is also a silkie thread on just about every color. Just do a search to find it. I have read them all from start to finish but then I don't have little child to tend anymore.

Just remember that not everything you read is accurate...

Thanks for the advice. I am reading more on different threads, but still get confused. I get more of a chance to read, like now, while I am nursing, but I have five others running around while I am sitting and nursing

I am having sooooo much fun watching these chicks grow up and even thinking some of them might be show quality! I have some hatching eggs on order that are from SQ stock, so I'm really excited about those. My DH is in next spring mode also, so I'll make do with the facilities I've got for now. Fortunately we have lots of land!

We may be moving in the near future, so, my hubby keeps asking me how I think we will move the chickens and their homes....he reminds me of this when I tell him I want a bigger coop and some grow out pens

Greetings! I'm hoping someone can direct me in the right direction. My 10 year old lil girl is in love with silkies. She is in 4-H and is wanting to show them. We were fortunate to adopt a beautiful black roo at the Ohio Nationals to go along with her lil hen, penguin. While at the Ohio Nationals, she also adopted a pretty lil buff roo. For Christmas, all she is asking for is a buff silkie hen as pretty as her roo, Honey. I hoping to buy a hen for Parker to find under the Christmas Tree Christmas morning. HAHA--I have even hired a sitter to keep the bird until Christmas eve.

If there is anyone in NW Ohio that has Buff silkies for sale? I am willing to drive up to 3 hours one way to pick up Parker's Christmas gift. This will take me to down to the Columbus Area, up to the Detroit Area, over to the Cleveland Area, and over to Anderson Indiana and Ft Wayne Indiana.

Does anyone know of a breeder of buff silkies within this range?

There were some little buff silkie juvies at the show this weekend. Had I known I would have picked one out for ya and shipped for you

darn, darn, DARN! I've been looking and looking...watching and watching. So far nothing but eggs. We don't have an incubator or I would purchase some of the pretty buff eggs and hatch them for Christmas morning. Wouldn't that be fun for Parker...asking for one lil buff hen and getting a bator full! HAHA

Thanks for the hope! At least I know we still have a chance to find one before Christmas morning.
