Buff Silkie Thread!

silkiefluff, It turned out that my little silkie roo is not a true white but I actually think his red feathers on his wings are beautiful and so unusual. And he is definitely a "he". He only has those feathers on his wings and no where else. He turned into a gorgeous roo. He has these shiny silky streamers at the base of his head and all around the back of his neck. He reminds me of big bird from sesame street when watching him walk around from behind. And his earlobes a huge (can only see a little in these photos) and they are the most irradescent blue color. The shimmer in the light. Here's some updated pics. Thanks for the response!
He is handsome! I think you have a "red paint" roo. Some breeders would be knocking down your door for him. It's a rare color. Google it. :)

Do you have any breeding tips for a newbe? do silkie chicks always look like their mom and dad or if I had a black and a white would one turn out to be a buff?

Send in a feather to a place like Avian Biotech for DNA sexing. It usually costs in the ball bark of $20 a sample. Otherwise you can play the waiting game til they crow or lay. I've had some that had me guessing til they were 10 months. Most I can tell at about 2-6 months though.

Not sure if anyone is still on this thread, but is this chick going to be buff? Came from a line of buffs
