Definitely keep the FluffNStuff away from these guys!!!!!!

Those poor little birds, so sad to see their faces like that.

I just remember the other day how excited you were. Urgh! I would be very very upset too. Hope the person gives you a refund with no stink. Glad you are keeping them as pets.

aaaawww those poor litle babies. I am sory you were shipped chicks in that condition and I hope you get a full refund with no junk. I am glad you are keeping them...even with their little faces twisted...they are adorable.

The thing is you can plainly see the problems there. You would have to be blind not to..

I hope they refund your money and send you super birds to replace them who ever the breeder might be....

The problem now is what to do with them, culling would be in the best interest of them, they may have long term problems, you cant use them as breeders, send them back and let them deal with them..Its gonna be a tough choice to make on these poor things..???????? I see you are keeping them for broodys hope there is no other issue's for you with them. hopefully no roo's in the group..

I feel for you on this deal.. :thun

I paid a LOT of money for some show quality eggs this year. My only buff has a single comb, but she is the sweetest thing and I just couldn't part with her. I will not be using her for breeding, but she makes a great pet. It was very disappointing with the price I paid

, not like you got eggs and couldn't see the problems. That was very irresponsible of the seller to send you those. I feel for you....

I had some gorgeous buff silkies, hatched out many, many and ended up at one point having two of the crooked face as yours are (not crooked beak) ones hatch out. I never figured out why, but it was a total fluke. Due to that, I wondered if it might be an incubation issue. Did you just get these babies or were they sent to you as day olds? I ask b/c the crooked face was not obvious to me until they were quite well started. Definitely couldn't tell as day olds.

As for the color, I agree. They could possibly have partridge in their past lineage, but sometimes buffs will hatch and grow not solid and then when their adult feathers grow in, they will be. However, I've got buffs from some of the best and I think I got maybe two pure buffs with no soot in their coloring, etc. Buffs are gorgeous, but they caused me a lot of headache trying to get just right! hehe

I hope the breeder is able to make things right with you.

ETA: It's been less than 24 hours since you e-mailed, it sounds like. I wouldn't stress about lack of contact just yet. (I don't know if you are, but someone else mentioned it.)

I have a Buff Silkie with some dark feathers. I got her from a breeder. The breeder told me of her DQ and did not charge me as much. I am not breeding or showing, so I took her. She is the sweetest thing. She is now 1.5 years old and has not lost her dark feathers.

Sorry to hear about these babies Sundown. I sure hope the breeder does the right thing.

I am like klf73 and paid a lot of hatching eggs and turned up only one chick - wrong comb. Frustrating really. I did order some silkies from Ideal and am surprised at how many are looking very nice. I am no SQ expert, but they sure beat the pants off these buff ones. Faces straight, good feathered feet, correct combs and even some are bearded. I have three buffs, but not sure if their color is correct yet as they are still a week old.

Good luck and hoping to hear some good news on a refund or replacement of quality birds at the very least.
