Sour there your go again... Our posts should come with a disclaimer.. Beware of chicken math and we ARE enablers. Heck, I started with 7 hens @ POL... Now i've got more than 150 and they darn well better start laying. ARG!:he

I too have been done to one, lonely chicken and had to rush out and find her a friend, waive quarantine etc.

I was lucky in that because she was lonely, my Cilla accepted her new flock mate quite readily and because the new flock mate was also alone, visa versa.

So, if you are going to add two it might be an idea to get two who are not established friends or you may find that they gang up and pick on Buffy.
 
Sourland isn't kidding about getting 4 or more. If you get one companion for your hen and something happens to either one, you are back to square one. If you add more to the flock, it can be easier to integrate them to your survivor.

You can check out the "Look but don't touch," method of integration it is the kindest, gentlest manner of doing so.
