OMRAN

LOL OMRAN .. I just talked to our builder about picking up all the extra lumber and decking. I told him "All I see iare chicken coops laying around in pieces on the ground." We'll definitely be gathering that stuff up!

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, last weekend 11-7 and 11-8 .. we stayed out at the place. Invited a couple of friends, and "camped out" in the house. We cooked fajita meat and veggies over an open fire, some jalapeno pinto beans in a dutch oven in some hot coals ..and we feasted.

Then we ran extension cords from the construction electric pole to the house, hooked up lights and a laptop .. watched Ol' Brother Where Art Thou .. and generally had a great time.

We put a sizable dent in ONE of the huge piles of tree tops left by the loggers.. DD12 played with the chickens (who had their first two full days of free ranging .. so cute1) and found various types of wildlife to take pictures of. Fun fun fun.

First the house pics:

And because this in a chicken board .. and we are building a FARM .. I'll start including my chicken pics here as well.

My babies are 6 weeks old now. 4 SFs and 1 Ameraucana ... They enjoyed their first two full days of free ranging and loved every minute of it ..

Yes, I'm aware that FOUR of my FIVE babies are cockerals ..

I will have to do something about that at some point .. right now I'm just enjoying them.

Your house is looking great! I love the yellow. And all those windows! You must be super excited! And your chooks are adorable.....getting more pullets later? Very nice pics.

Thanks! We're actually changing the color .. yellow was one of our choices .. this is just the color of the siding they put on. It REALLY shines bright from the road .. through the trees even .. so we think we are going to go with green .. to reduce visibility from the road .. we'll see!

More pullets are def in the future. I just can't decide if I want to buy some pullets .. or hatch another batch .. Right now, we're just focusing on the house, though.

Slow week on As the Farm Turns .. we are preparing to paint .. yep, that's right, that beautiful yellow is going away to be replaced by green .. we'll see how that goes!

Let's see.... have you picked out all your light fixtures, plumbing, appliances, bathroom tile, doorknobs, flooring, inside paint, window trim, baseboards, and closet fixtures? I think that's everything they've thrown at me; just want you to be ahead of the game! Our cabinet installers are here today to put in the kitchen cabinets, and the wood stove in the basement will be hooked up and pipes installed today. Your pictures are great, including the chickens. I know you'll be excited when it's done and you can finally move in.
