Things are moving slower going into the holidays .. and dodging rainstorms.

Behind the scenes, there have been meetings with the plumbers, electricians, A/C guys .. etc.

And the house is painted! yippeeee ... I can give you THOSE pics anyway ..

No more yellow.

Not much else to share.

sure did miss ya!!! the house looks beautiful.. I LOVE the color!!!!!!! So glad you had a gread thanksgiving and all.. So neat to see that dry wall sitten there. It's g;oing to change things sooooo much once in.. Loven watching..thanks!

Thanks .. we knew that was the color when we saw it .. subtle. AND, the house that you used to be able to see through the trees from the road has now disappeared.. you can barely make it out now that it's that color .. so PERFECT.

No, we won't be in by Christmas .. we're still looking at a mid to late January move in.

Oh, we did some furniture shopping -- not BUYING, just shopping. I'll have to post those pics later, I didn't upload them off the camera yet.

Of course, we have RAIN here for the next two days ..

A frosty Texas weekend.

Well, we got a little blast of winter weather friday .. The snow came down steadily for a couple hours but too warm for anything to stay on the ground.. My chickens were in the coop looking outside like "WTH??" .. it was funny.

Saturday morning, we had 22 degrees and frozen everything. DD17 had SATs on Saturday and she and I had a good laugh at the doors on my truck being frozen shut .. and the windows and windshield having ice on it .. ha ha .. it's real FUN when it only happens once every few years, huh??

It was a pretty country drive to her testing school, so I couldn't help myself with the camera:

After I picked her up from testing, I met DH out at the property for more burning and cleaning.

OH!! We have SHINGLES ... no, no, no .. not the medical condition .. on our ROOF!!

Other than that .. things are moving REALLY slow. Everything hinges around the plumber.. until he gets his sorry #&(#&$ out there and does his thing, we can't move forward. Once he does, the electrician, A/C guy, pump guys, and septic folks can do their thing ..

So for now, we cut ... and burn. Temps were in the 40's so it was GREAT weather for it.

And it's no secret that my favorite reason for hanging out at the property .... is the chickens .. They are just so much fun to watch and they love when we spend the day out there because they get to free range.

Well, with construction well underway, and the holidays upon us, and our total inability (or lack of desire) to dig through our storage shed and find our decorations, etc... we have decided to have a Charlie Brown Christmas in the apartment.

The kids are excited, and it's minimal cost. We found a little cedar tree growing along the side of the road and that has become our Christmas tree. A quick trip to Wal-mart for one string of lights, some popcorn and cranberries to string and decorate -- gingerbread and sugar cookies to bake and decorate -- and Waaaa Laaaa ... we have Christmas!

The girls will be home soon, and the popcorn is already popped and cooled .. I shall take plenty of pictures -- of course -- and post in a day or two ..

Good nite and God Bless!

Deb

The house is looking great. I really like the paint and shingle colors. Mid-Jan. isn't too far off.

Can't wait to see the furniture pics.

It is going to be a great Xmas with or without the house being finished. Time to say good bye to your apartment and last Xmas in there!

I like the color so much better! Great going!

I love the frost landscaping pictures, its beautiful!

Fabulous! What a beautiful site and home! What's even more wonderful is that in the near/distant future you can remember all that you did yourselves to bring it all about. What memories to have!
