Building a new coop, suggestions welcome

Removed forms and started to lay out some block just to get an idea of what the first course will look like. I have a bunch of leftover Hilti two part epoxy that I'll use to secure this first course of block to the footer in lieu of the surface bonding cement because frankly I have more experience with the epoxy. Also had a helper this afternoon.

Picture update. Laid out the perimeter on the footer. I'll be working with weather, work, and my wife's patience to epoxy the first layer of block. It should go quickly after that.(Famous last words!)

Cleaned the mud out of and set another corner today. The second course of block sitting in place is dry stacked except for the one that overlaps the concrete footer.

Made some big progress today! It might look it, but that's almost 3 hours of work between surface prep(to find my marks), popping lines without a helper, laying blocks and then epoxy in place. Not to mention cutting fillers because without grout, cinder blocks are only 15 1/2"

Update from today. Up to the third course on the low side. I have to buy about a dozen blocks to make the final course. Need to cut a few fillers for the short gaps. All said it will be 8" above grade with 4 on the back and 2 on the front. After that it'll be time for the surface bonding cement. I Expect to be making a Lumber run soon.

Update:

Glad this happened now rather than later! I was planning to take this tree down because it had a bad lean toward the house /future coop. God decided to take it down early for me! Only injury was the grill and it wasn't mortal. Otherwise nothing was affected.
