WOW thanks for the compliment!

I like humor, sometimes it gets me in trubble.....I am more than happy to answer any question regarding this project, even the funny ones.

If it weren't for sharing this, for others to benefit in words and photo's, I would have never made a thread about it.....you all that are enjoying it is what makes it rewarding for me. If it helps any of you....then it is a Bonus!

Steve, I wanted to thank you for making this thread too. It gave me the motivation to do mine, and I literally counted the studs and joists for my materials list from your pics. My coop won't be the same design, but it is the same square footage and that was invaluable to me.

WOW!!!!! I wanna learn how to do That! Weird? Not in my book. Roy Underhill is cool! Your talking to the guy that makes 5th -17th century reproductions out of clay, and who's favorite way to fire a kiln is with wood. Seriously, PLEASE get him to show you how to do that and many more things, those old coots are living treasures! I mean bending wood for a chair is pretty cool, but structural members... again WOW! I've been toying with the idea of doing a timber frame barn with nothing but hand tools, just for the fun of it. Now who's weird! Kinda sad, but when my generation gets that age I'll be able to say "Sure, I can show you how to use a C-64 or Vic-20! Basic? No problem, let me see that key board. No, I don't need no stinking mouse!"

Swamp (from the last generation to use rotary phones while growing up!)

Dear Santa,

I have been very very very good. I really have. Please bring Steve to my house to help with my old barn.

Cookies in the kitchen. Milk in the fridge.

Thank you, you big jolly elf!

XXXOOO,
Angie

We had a barn near us when I was growing up that had a curved roof. My dad said it was a "dutch barn" and when freight was hauled to Port Huron by horses that is where thay would stop for the night.
Can you beleive as a kid I was lusting after barns already?? Did'nt even have the chicken addiction yet!
This was in the 60's-70's and of course the barn was already in serious disrepair. It was actually two barns with a connection between them that looked like a third barn. If that makes sense. Wonder if its still standing, last time when I went by the owers had put some old sliding and garage doors on the connecting barn part. So sad
