Building My First Coop

Pics
Took the winter water pail outta the coop today , got the outside water pail in the run , hopefully we won't be getting anymore serious freezes here but will watch closely . Hopefully Spring has sprung .
I was just thinking about this post yesterday when refilling my heated waterer, thinking if it's time to take it out. I'm glad it didn't - it dropped to the low 20s last night, and was still only 24 when I went out this morning. The chickens do have a regular waterer along with the heated one, and the water in the regular waterer had frozen. I guess spring hasn't quite sprung yet in MA! 🥶

Ha , its snowing lightly here as I write this , not gonna amount to anything but water in the run didn't freeze so it must be around 32-33 degrees . Hopefully warmer days are coming .

Wow , been a long time since I built this coop . Just wanted to do a follow up on The Ladies First automatic door I installed when I built the coop . I installed the door in September of 2019 , so its going on 6 years now , the door is still working great and its still on the original set of rechargeable batteries that came with it . I am more than pleased with it . The coop itself is holding up great , no predator problems at all . Chickens are happy and healthy and laying eggs every day again after a cold January/February .
