Craftsmanship takes time. I am sure you could throw up a plywood box with a roof in less than an hour. I figure I have a few weeks til the chicks need to move out of the brooder. I am glad I started the coop before getting the chicks, because for some reason, work on the coop has slowed way down since Monday.
