If you have good compactable ground it workes great. the only thing is in order for it to last longer than a couple of years the wood needs to be treated. I'm also doing an 8 x 8 coop, with a slanted roof from 6 ft to 8 ft. My run will be a dog kennel w/hardware cloth. Love to see how people build their 8 x 8s as I prepare to build mine.

Today we got a lot of work done on the roof structure - the idea was to make a template truss and make sure it fit right and then make 17 more of them!

Now that the first truss fit in snugly we began cutting the others - this took a good part of the day but we worked together like a fine oiled machine! Look at the pile of pre-cut pieces

The end of the day - this is what we had put together and up on the roof structure - the rest of the roof trusses are cut and ready to put together tomorrow.

We have a full day of building scheduled for tomorrow

Very nice coop. When he is done there I am in Nottingham NH so let me know when to expect this "Well Oiled Machine" that you have spoken of
