This is really helpful... i had to separate a bloodied pecked orpington today.
She gets regularly bullied by the one that’s pecked her.
I sprayed her wounded area with Antimicrobial spray and have her in a crate in the coop overnight So she can start to heal, but i wish i had crated the bully instead.
She’s had a rough molt, looks kind of pale and droopy for ~2 weeks. Now this.
Separating her makes me feel like i’m adding insult to injury. Its in the 20s tonight.
Any advice on managing the two of them?
Is hiding the bully away to reduce her status effective? How long can she be separated? I’d have to keep her in the house in a crate to really hide her away.
I’ll get them some activities set up tomorrow to distract, but i’m not optimistic.
