Bumble foot

You said toes were gone. That looks like pretty much the entire foot is missing. At least from my perspective. I see the scab, is it oozy, stinky, coming from it. The scab, sometimes you can get a like yellowish clean liquid that crystalizes / scabs with it, and thats fairly normal. What you'd be most worried is stink, deep red, gooey, black, green, well, you know, infection goop coming out of it.

Besides for that little bit of red on the other side which I can not tell from this angle what it really is, if it's bleeding, a touch of infection left or what. It DOES look pretty clean and now it's just a matter of keeping it clean, maybe some antibiotic cream and you should be good.

Imn so sorry he got this injured, but on a good note, being it happened when he was so young, he'll learn how to use that thing and be just fine I bet.

I agree with the last part:so glad it happened when he was young and not an adult so it's easier to learn

thank you so much for the help

You are very welcome. If it is not infected and just healing up, he should be fine in about a week really, and then time to turn him back on the normal bird at that age routine. If it is a bit infected, then it might take a few more days for the infection to get knocked out, and the final healing to set in. But it looks like you may have caught it now where it won't cause any additional damage.

Please keep us informed, one way or another on him, but Im thinking at this point, he's going to be just fine. He's got a caring mama looking out for him :D

Hi @MorningGlory16 , I was looking for the answer to a question I had re necrotic chicken toes/ feet, and came across this short thread.

Thread 'Chickens feet dieing scales falling off' https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/chickens-feet-dieing-scales-falling-off.968046/

The thread is an instance of a chicken's feet dying from an unknown cause, but most likely some type of vascular defect. Thought you might be interested.🙂

@horseloverfarmgirl , it looks like your Silkie's wound is well on it's way to healing. Keep it very clean and dry until fully healed. Triple antibiotic ointment or vetericyn spray might be a better deterrent to infection than the corona ointment, but if you feel the corona is getting the job done that is all that matters.

Break his other foot ?? :🤷:

Make sure his other foot IS good. If he's not standing on it, there's probably a reason. Nothing stuck in it, thorn, rock imbedded etc etc.

If everything is fine then i'd just leave him do his thing.
