BUMBLEFOOT BUT NO PLUG TO BE SEEN!

@Wyorp Rock, you don’t think it could be MS? It does look like photos I’ve seen, but I’ve not seen it in person.
No I don't.
There's no bilateral swelling.
Both feet, legs and joints would be affected. It's Bumblefoot - an infection of the foot.

Show us some photos of MS that supposed look like that along with links so we can see the description/comments. May be an interesting read anyway.

This is what I saw and why I said it looks like it... only Bc I was trying to figure out what’s going on with my chickens. I’m not a pro though, I’m just a noob trying to diagnose my own birds lol.

Could be similar, but with a disease like MS, there would be other symptoms not just some swelling of the feet.

All of us are noobs - no one her is a pro - no one her is a vet.

Here's a link to the photo you posted.

I don’t think it’s MS, no other parts of her body are swelling. Her one foot is the only part swollen, and her legs not affected. Also, I believe MS is contagious and none of our other chickens have shown any signs of swelling whatsoever.

Thanks for finding the links. So even after you read the clinical findings/symptoms in those links and the OP's comments about symptoms in their own bird(s) you would still consider the OP's bird to have MS?

You would want to start with just a small opening.
Good info in the link I provided previously. But you may find the video helpful as well.

If we have to cut what would be the best way to go about it, and is there any nerves etc we should be concerned about hitting in a chickens foot.

That is Bumblefoot, which is an infection of the foot.
It can be on the top or bottom.
You may need to open it and remove the pus/infection.

It's not MG.
@FirstLadyChickens You're going to have to do minor surgery to remove the infection, no way around it.

Not necessarily, no. I’m not saying that. I don’t think OP said anything about the rest of the flock or symptoms until after I asked you the question. I haven’t read extensively about MS; I simply said it looks like photos I’ve seen.

I don’t have a stake in this and I’m not interested in arguing about it… just trying to learn when I have a little time to pop onto the emergency forums.

I can see why you thought it might be MS, it does look like some of the pictures I’ve seen online, luckily though I’m 99% sure it’s not since the rest of the flock is fine and it’s just that spot on the foot. It was a really good suggestion though, I didn’t even think of that!
